How long has Toyota been using the keyless ignition system?

How long has Toyota been using the keyless ignition system.

The one on the new 4runner. That's push button start.

And has anyone had any problems with it?|||This new ignition system is just like the new electronic acceleration system. ....Enough said.|||I believe the started using the Push Start system since the 04' and up Prius'.

Honda has been using the Push Start system since around 00' in the Honda S2000 and they have never had a problem with them.

My guess is that system is not the cause of the recent recalls, althought it did not help. The real problem is going to be in the computers of the cars but they don't want to admit it since it will cost them billions more then it already has.|||7 years and no problems. people run battery down and come in saying it will not work and all needed was 2 fab batteries. You will also get a 65.00 charge for checking as 1 hour service minimum. If yousaid it was Fob adjustment as is not working, they will fix inminutes for free if batteries and pay 10.00 or some 0 to fix.
