Toyota 4runner 22r what other engines can be exchanged into this?

I would like to change the engine to a newer toyota V6 engine if possible.|||It would fit but you will need different mounts, ECU, and possibly transmission. For what a new V6 will cost, you can find a 22RTE or a small block Chevy V8 engine that will fit in it for a lot less money The V8 is probably one of the most popular swaps though. I'm not a domestic car fan, but the Chevy small block V8 is reliable enough to justify installing one.
