Is there a difference between a 97 Toyota Tacoma oil filter and a 98 Toyota Tacoma oil filter?

I did an oil change yesterday on my 98 Toyota Tacoma with the oil filter for the 97. I'm planning on driving from San Francisco to Los Angeles later today. I have had no visible problems yet.|||there is no difference. as a matter of fact that same filter has been used on many of the toyota engines for a long time. the 18r, 20 r and the 22re have all used it. should be equal to a fram 3614, a purolator 241, Pennzoil 21, i could go on.|||If the part number is the same then there are no issues. Also generally you can use many different filters to get by it just changes the oil capacity of the vehicle. Generally if the engine is the same size and displacement it will use the same filter as well.

You will be good to go.
